I came to Sarah five years ago for MFR treatments and Pilates. At 62 years old I couldn’t walk two blocks without hip and back pain that sent me straight home. My only goal was to be able to walk on the beach one day without pain. That goal was reached and surpassed long ago. I have no hip pain and only the occasional back pain. No more drugs! I’m strong and most importantly Sarah has given me tools for self-treatment!

“I have always been an active person. In the summers I’m often mountain biking or hiking and in the winters, I’m skiing as much as possible. However, one morning in December, I woke up with so much pain in my left knee that I knew my body was signaling something was wrong. I tried everything I could think of to help the ache in my knee with no success. Frustrated and concerned that I was dealing with something much more serious than I initially anticipated, I went to Sarah for treatment. It's hard to imagine what my body would be like without Pilates. I had no idea that I had a core, or that my core could be strengthened until I started Pilates classes six years ago with Sarah Blanton. With specific movements designed for me, and an instructor that takes my personal health and well-being to heart, I feel stronger, healthier and my mobility has increased substantially. The other piece that has added to the overall Pilates experience is being taught how to breathe properly. The controlled deep breaths in and full exhale out has not only served me well while exercising but has spilled over to times when I feel stressed or need a little refresh for my body and mind. Now, one would think that would be a natural occurrence and it is for the most part, however, the breathing that you do at Pilates is paired with the movements and it's the total package. Sarah has been instrumental in keeping not only my core strengthened, but also making sure that each muscle group is exercised in a different way. She adds moves that help me avoid slips, trips and falls by working on my balance; that is important as one grows older. Sarah is extremely gifted when it comes to arranging different movements that challenge my physical body and also my mental capabilities as well. I know I am in great hands with Sarah Blanton as my Pilates instructor and thankful for her encouragement, positive instruction, and compassion. She also has a wonderful sense of humor which makes her classes so much fun!
